Greg Gion earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University as a Talented Student Art Scholar
and a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. After his training in
the maxillofacial prosthetics clinic at UIC, Greg established a facial prosthetics service for Northwestern Memorial
Hospital Dental Center in 1981. Greg served as facial prosthetist in both clinics for 3 years and one year at the
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio before moving to Dallas. There, in 1985 he established the
first independent facial prosthetics facility operated by a medical artist. The Medical Art Prosthetics Clinic is now
co-directed by 2 anaplastologists. Greg publishes in peer reviewed journals and prosthetics and surgical texts,
occasionally. He was recruited to serve as adjunct faculty in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and as
clinical instructor in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Texas Southwestern Medical
Center in Dallas. A 2 year analysis of solo practice in anaplastology contributed to a practice-based professional
degree; Master of Medical Science (MMS), awarded in 2003 from Nova Southeastern University.
In 2005 Greg opened an additional Medical Art Prosthetics Office in Madison, Wisconsin. Greg serves on the Board for Certification in Clinical Anaplastology as chairman of the eligibility committee. Greg enjoys anaplastologists taking ownership of their expertise as they continue to expand and remodel their unique professional roles.
