Wendy A. Smith is a Registered Prosthetic Technician and a Certified Prosthetist with 25 years of experience in the field of Somato Prosthetics. She is an Honours Graduate of the Clinical Methods in Prosthetics and Orthotics Program at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada. She achieved Certified Prosthetist status in 1988.

 

Wendy went into private practice with her new company, Lifeart Prosthetics Inc. in 1995, after working as a staff prosthetist at the Health Sciences Centre, Rehabilitation Engineering Department in Winnipeg, Canada. Lifeart’s specialty restorations include finger, hand, forearm, buttock, calf and toe prostheses. Wendy also designs and fits non-implant retained ears and various protective devices. In 2003, Wendy created the unique Breast Dressed Program to provide custom breast prostheses and care for women undergoing breast surgery.

 

In addition, Wendy is an artist that uses a wide variety of mediums for her colourful and thought-provoking art pieces.
